Frequently asked questions

Before your appointment

What documents do I need to bring to my tax appointment?

Bring your Social Security or Tax ID numbers and birthdates for all family members, your prior two years of returns if available, all W-2 and 1099 forms, mortgage interest and property tax statements, childcare provider information (name, address, TIN/SSN), medical expense records, and charitable donation receipts. A full document checklist is on our Services page.

Do you prepare both federal and California state returns?

Yes. We prepare federal returns and California state returns together for every individual and business client so both filings stay consistent with each other.

Can you help if I haven't filed taxes in a few years?

Yes. We prepare back-year and amended returns and can help you respond to an IRS notice or set up a payment plan for any balance due. See Late & Amended Filings.

Do you work with small businesses and self-employed clients?

Yes. We prepare returns for sole proprietors, single- and multi-member LLCs, S-corporations, and C-corporations, and file quarterly and annual payroll tax returns. See Business Tax Preparation.

Where is Sinclair Tax Services located?

Our office is at 119 East California Ave, Suite A, Ridgecrest, CA 93555, open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. See the Contact page for directions.

How much does tax preparation cost?
